As concerned as we are about sustainable fishing, we know we can rely on Rex to provide us with top-notch fish from his Guildford shop. All their fish is hand picked daily from the Cornish market at Newlyn and London’s Billingsgate fish market. So unless you are going to don a wetsuit yourself, you won’t find fish fresher than this.
‘For most of the day, we hope you won’t notice that we are there!’ say James and Katharine – a London based couple who specialise in reportage wedding shots, using the beauty of natural light. We’ve seen what they can do – and the focus is on the natural: whether it’s capturing the bride applying that last bit of lip-gloss, to the wedding party on the terrace, each of their pictures will evoke memories for years to come.
Lydling Farm – Aberdeen Angus Beef
Practically our neighbours, the team at Lydling Farm work with the same ethos as us about food. As they say, ‘The whole point of putting so much effort into breeding top quality cattle is to create beef that is unrivalled in taste and texture.’ We couldn’t agree more, and that’s why we use this centuries old family business.
The guys over at Plantation Pigs understand that it’s by using traditional pig breeds, suited to the outdoors with plenty of fresh air, and feeding them special diets, that produces such fine meat. They have been applying this magic formula to their pigs since 1987 and it’s why we love their pork.
Once again local to us, Secretts is a third generation family business who really know their onions. They produce more than onions, of course – in fact, they’re renowned for their market garden produce across Surrey and London, supplying some of the top Michelin starred restaurants.
CH Wakeling is a traditional butcher who believes in 100% traceability and animal welfare – as we do. Wakelings Butchers provide us with much of our meat. We put our faith in this local business – whether we need a whole hog or speciality meats and cuts that you can’t source elsewhere.
